A substantial Persian silver multi arm candelabrum, richly hand engraved in the traditional Isfahan Qalamzani technique.
The piece is built around a tall faceted stem and octagonal stepped base, with multiple scrolling arms, trumpet form candle sockets, covered cup form elements and a large flared central trumpet. The surface is extensively decorated with hand worked floral, foliate, bird and Persian ornamental motifs.
The base bears an 84 silver standard mark together with an additional workshop or maker's mark. The 84 standard corresponds approximately to 875/1000 silver.
The candelabrum retains its natural aged surface, patina, tarnish, scratches and wear. It has not been polished or restored for presentation. These characteristics are preserved as part of the object's history and character.
A large and highly decorative example of Persian silverwork, suitable as a statement collector's piece.
