A remarkable complete Indo Persian armour set comprising four matching pieces, each elaborately decorated with silver koftgari inlay on iron a refined technique of hammering fine silver wire into etched iron to create dense, all over floral arabesque patterns.
The set includes:
- Khula Khud (Helmet) a domed helmet with a central spike finial, sliding nasal bar, and articulated chainmail aventail protecting the neck and shoulders
- Dhal (Round Shield) a circular shield with four raised decorative bosses arranged symmetrically, the surface covered entirely in scrolling silver foliate design
- Bazu Band (Vambrace / Arm Guard) a tubular forearm defense with hinge closure, fully engraved in matching arabesque Koftgari work
- Tabar (Battle Axe) a crescent bladed axe on a long shaft, the blade and haft decorated in the same continuous silver inlay pattern
All four pieces share a unified decorative vocabulary, suggesting they were commissioned and crafted as a single ensemble. The silver inlay retains strong contrast against the darkened iron ground, with no significant loss to the Koftgari work.
