Dressed in a voluminous pale blue ruffled lace skirt adorned with hand applied floral rosettes, she wears gold ballet slippers and a delicate floral hair ornament, each detail preserved in hard paste porcelain through meticulous hand craftsmanship.
The fired lace effect is achieved by dipping real fabric in liquid porcelain slip before firing at high temperature, permanently capturing every ruffle and thread in ceramic form. This demanding technique is the hallmark of the finest Thuringian porcelain ateliers.
