A substantial Ottoman period Arabic manuscript comprising a comprehensive compendium of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) by Al Qaddumi, covering the full range of Islamic law and religious practice including purity (Tahara), prayer (Salat), inheritance (Mirath), lawful commerce (Bay‘ shar‘i), and all further pillars and obligations of Islamic practice. The work is organized into 173 chapters (abwab).
The text is written in a clear Arabic naskh hand with rubrication (black and red ink) for chapter headings and key legal terms, and is accompanied throughout by dense marginal annotations in multiple hands attesting to active scholarly use across generations. Geometric diagrams illustrate inheritance divisions.
The manuscript also contains a valuable Ottoman Sultan lineage table recording rulers with their names and reign durations it a significant historical document embedded within the text.
Bound in the original blue leather Ottoman binding with a gold tooled spine divided into decorative panels. Binding shows honest wear consistent with its age; the text block is complete and legible throughout.
