A monumental Satsuma style earthenware floor vase, complete with domed lid and footed stand, standing 120 cm tall. The cream ground body is richly decorated with figural cartouches geisha in a lakeside landscape and a warrior in a rocky setting set against dense millefiori grounds of chrysanthemums, peonies, and butterflies in moriage (raised gold enamel) relief. The base bears a four character iron red seal mark.
Good overall. A hairline crack is present on the lower body panel, visible in the photographs and reflected in the price. Lid, finial, and stand are intact. No restoration or repairs.
