A luminous antique French uranium glass vase of trumpet form, dating to circa 1900. The vivid apple green body glows with the characteristic fluorescence of uranium glass under UV light. The exterior is decorated with finely acid etched floral and foliate scrollwork, and the flared rim is finished with a broad band of gilded decoration.
The vase rises from a faceted bulbous base to a tall waisted body, flaring dramatically at the top. The combination of uranium glass, acid etching, and gilt rim is characteristic of high quality French glasshouse production of the Belle Époque period.
