Antique American pocket watch by Elgin National Watch Co., housed in a solid sterling silver full hunter case by Crescent Watch Case Co. The movement is signed “Elgin Nat’l Watch Co. U.S.A.” and numbered 10,872,052, dating the watch to approximately 1904.
The ornate sterling silver case is finely engraved with floral and foliate decoration and a vacant central cartouche. The inner cover is clearly stamped “STERLING 925/1000 FINE C.W.C. CO.”, confirming a solid 925 silver case.
White enamel dial signed Elgin, with black Roman numerals, minute track, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and dark steel hands. The movement features decorative engraving and is marked “Safety Pinion.”
