Large antique Qama / Kindjal type short sword featuring a long steel blade with multiple deep longitudinal fullers and two small decorative applied motifs near the hilt.The sword has a dark shaped wooden grip secured with two prominent fixing studs and retains its old leather covered scabbard.
The piece shows substantial age and use, with oxidation, scratches, surface wear and patination throughout. The wooden hilt has visible cracking and an old repair near the blade junction.
The form is associated with the Qama / Kindjal tradition found across the Caucasus, Persia and surrounding regions. Exact origin and maker remain unidentified.
