Antique Bohemian White Opaline Glass Lustre with Gilt Decoration & Crystal Prisms
Fine antique Bohemian white opaline glass lustre of tulip cup form on a baluster stem and circular foot, richly decorated with bold gilt scrollwork, gilt crosshatch banding at the rim, and hand painted enamel floral sprays in pink and white. The cup is hung with a full set of original faceted clear crystal prism drops suspended from the rim.
The opaline glass is of excellent quality with a warm white tone throughout. The gilt decoration retains strong colour and detail. Presented in antique condition with age related wear consistent with the period. No restoration claimed.
A highly decorative piece in the Bohemian Biedermeier / mid 19th century tradition.
