A beautifully matched pair of antique Bohemian ruby glass mantel lustres, each suspending a full suite of faceted crystal prisms that cascade in brilliant clarity against the deep, jewel toned body. The rich cranberry red glass is characteristic of the finest Bohemian glassmaking tradition dense, luminous, and utterly commanding on a mantelpiece or console.
Each lustre features a scalloped trumpet form cup with gilt dot enamel decoration with a delicate scrolling motif framed within a dotted rectangular reserve, set atop a classically turned baluster stem and a stepped circular foot with moulded base detailing. The prisms, a mix of elongated spear drops and faceted octagonal connectors, catch and scatter light with exceptional effect.
